Reprinted some prints from my first plate and used some color to ontemporary the light and create a different atmosphere, really happ with how this turned out!!
We have to do a two block black and grey woodcut print in one day! These are the intinal sketches for the print. The text "damn graffiti kids....but they have such nice hand writing " was somthing an older man said one day when giving out about the increase of graffiti in Limerick, I just thought it was funny how he said it mid rant and ties in to my theme nicely.
Print of a photo i took of an elderly man walking down a dirty back alley where much illegal dumping occurs. This image made me think about how many times this man may have used this path, maybe a shortcut home or to the local shop or pub and how if he did use this alley for many years how much he has seen it change and deteriorate. For the print used a magnified version of this image and i played around with light and shadow effects using mono print!
